Russia becomes 4th top grain supplier to EU in September

MOSCOW, Dec 4 (PRIME) -- The E.U. grain purchases from Russia jumped by 22% on the month and by 10 times on the year to 180,000 tonnes in September, hitting a record since March 2022 and making Russia E.U.’s 4th largest grain supplier in the month, Eurostat said on December 2.

Ukraine was the top exporter of grain to the E.U. in the month with supplies rising by 1% on the month but plunging by 25% on the year to 1.2 million tonnes in September.

Brazil ranked second with exports jumping by 80% on the month to 1.1 million tonnes, and Turkey was the third largest exporter with its supplies gaining 4% to 204,000 tonnes of grain.
